Pearson Test of English (PTE) is a widely accepted English language test accepted by many institutions worldwide and approved for all UK, Australian and New Zealand visa and immigration categories.
There are two categories of PTE exam: PTE Academic and PTE Academic UKVI. PTE Academic is the right choice for all students desiring to study abroad. The format of the two exams is very similar. PTE Academic UKVI is approved by the UK Home Office for all UK visas, requiring a four (reading, writing, speaking, listening) skill English language test.
TEST MODES
PTE is only conducted online, hence you need to visit a PTE centre to appear for the exam. You can schedule test sessions up to 24 hours in advance, 365 days a year. This gives you much more flexibility and you can make a testing booking at a short notice as well.
TEST DESIGN
The duration of the exam is 3 hours with three main parts that include speaking and writing (together), listening and reading.There are twenty different question formats and you will hear different accents, which will test your English language competency.

TEST SCORES AND VALIDITY
You will receive a score for each of the above sections in the range of 10-90 along with an overall band score. As the exam is only conducted in online mode, the results are usually made available within 48 hours of appearing the test. These scores are valid and acceptable for 2 years.
